I feel overwhelmed and on the edge what can I do?

I want to go to college so that I can teach little children. But it seems like everyone else goes to college to make lots of money and some people do something that they hate. Maybe I'm nuts by wanting to do something that I think I would love. But I seriously can't take it anymore I'm feeling very down about money and retirement and health insurance and all kinds of crap because people act like you need all of this money, money I probably won't have if I get married and have kids or something.

Money money money and some people are lucky enough if they make a dollar a day. Some people are starving,w hat about them?

I am not materialistic, I don't care about money and I don't expect to have a ton of bills. So what is so wrong with my decision to go to college so that I can teach kids? I'm so tired of listening to everyone's opinions. Is there any way to stop ingesting all of what they're saying?

I feel overwhelmed and on the edge what can I do?
i know! all people think of careers today is just for the money. hellooo.. a career is basically your life and what you spend your whole day doing. if your going to do something you hate just for the money, your gonna be miserable. you should follow your heart and go ahead and teach little children! if it's your passion than go for it. don't worry, teachers get plenty of benefits and you'll have over a lifetime to earn money. besides you'll have a partner (your wife) along with you. don't listen to the other people. this is your future on the line. do what you want to do and you'lll be happy. good luck, hope i helped, and God bless
Reply:I've known teachers who are frugal, don't spend so much, and earn a decent nest egg on their salaries.

It' not how much you earn. It's how much you save and invest.

Follow your heart. You'll be best in what you pursue with your heart, and if you're good, you have better earning potential, provided you are savvy with the money.
Reply:If you are tired of hearing others opinions, stop asking for them. College is not a place to go so that you can make money in the long run, although it does help. College opens your mind to a world of information and thoughts you would not otherwise obtain. You don't need to be in class, just the atmosphere and level of conversations you encounter in college will help you in the end. If teaching is your passion, go for it. Some teachers end up making 50, 000.00 or so per year. It all depends on the district and area you work in. Teachers who continue educating themselves sometimes acquire enough education to be counselors. They make more money and schoo directors/principals and their assistants also make more money.

If teaching was my passion, I would give it a shot. I would continue educating myself. This would open the doors to other possibilities as I matured, so would my career.

Remember, it's hard when your own child says, "mommy/daddy, will you take me to ( ) this summer and you just can't afford it. Or if you want to retire after 30 years of teaching and find out that your 401K just does not have enough in it for you to do so and will work till the day you die.
Reply:If you feel overwhelmed, start small.

Set smaller goals first and achieve them.

You are looking at a long term result and dwelling on it.

Tackle your life ambitions with gusto. The love of what you are doing will keep you focused.

Don't lose that enthusiasm, that is what will make you great. If you can change one life, do it! I hope my words help you!
Reply:I could never spend my life doing something I don't love. I recommend doing what you love but maybe on the side be a conservative investor.. A good path to wealth can be a slow but steady one. If you plan things right, with any job and proper investing, you have enough money..
Reply:There is a way to stop ingesting what ppl are saying and it's stop listening. Follow your heart and your decision. Dont let ppl put negativity in your presence about your morals or how you feel about things in life. You dont have to listen to the ppl who says why go to college to teach kids. It's your choice if you dont want to go that route there are certificate programs and other resources you can look into. Remember money is the rule of all evil but it still make the world go round. You can do a lot in this world just stand by your morals
Reply:stop talking to people.
