I am female in mid thirties, never had this problem before this. I sit on the toilet because I feel the need to go, but then I end up sitting there I've timed it to 1 1/2 hours sometimes, then I just give up until I feel the need to go again, and the process just keeps repeating. When I finally do get lucky and go, it does not come out like it used to, like on it's own. I have to push it out. This is driving me nuts, plus interrupting my whole lifestyle. I have a Dr. appt. in 2 weeks but I need to know, has anyone ever has this problem and know what it is? HELP!
How come I can't pee?
You need to be drining more water.
Reply:You may have moderate urinary retention.
The danger here is that when the bladder has too much urine and cannot be released with a blocked urethra (which could be the case), all of that excess urine could back up all the way to the kidneys.
This may not be a good thing when this happens...the kidneys may work so hard to fight off that excess urine that you will end up with acute kidney shutdown--also known as acute kidney failure.
This acute kidney failure can lead to chronic kidney failure (and in a few cases, end-stage renal disease, which can kill you if you don't get a transplant or dialyisis) if the thing is not resolved, so best to see your doctor.
You may have to have surgery on your urethra if the doctor determines that there is a blockage that keeps your urine from flowing out from your body. I hope not, but I guess this is the problem.......
Reply:It sounds like a bladder infection. You have to go to the Dr. sooner than two weeks. Antibiotics are the only way to get rid of it. You can go to the drug store and buy urastat and it almost completely mask the symptoms. Its really like a miracle. But it will not cure you. If you let a bladder infection go too long it will travel to your kidney.
Also drink a lot of cranberry juice. It coats your bladder and helps flush away infection.
Good luck, I've been there and its not fun!!
Reply:This is a very common condition called tikesploteransition. its very common in women of your age. It may have been caused by either holder in the urine when needing to go in the past or through excesisve sexual intercourse.
Reply:I had a similar prob, right before I had a kidney stone! I hope you get well soon.
Reply:have a lot of water and especially bananas and ots a fibrous food like greens etc etc... concentrate on ur diet. this will be more effective n a natural remedy....
Reply:Press on the lower part of your tummy and keep doing till it's time this is what I do when I want to go. Just keep pressing it works every time
Reply:See your Doctor ASAP , you have a serious medical problem
