Can baby sense me???

my 3mo old sleeps wonderfully (5out7) thru the night but every single time i walk into the room for bed she always wakes up and starts auto sucking her fingers! it drives me nuts it even happens thru out her naps in the day i dont know what it is even if i dont make ANY noise at all she starts moving around and waking up (but sometimes if im lucky falls back asleep) what is it that makes her do that and what can i do to stop it??? thank you mommies!!!

Can baby sense me???
She can definitely sense you. Of all people, she will be able to sense you. Think about it...she was inside of you for all that time and you two know each other better than anyone else. She knows your smells, your rythms, everything. Babies' intuitions are amazing! If she goes back to sleep after she wakes up, I don't think it's any big deal.
Reply:Babies have wonderful senses of smell. More than likely she can smell you--perfume, deoderant, breast milk, soap whatever you normally smell like. The smell of the breast milk stimulates her to desire to eat.
Reply:Are you breast feeding? It is amazing how a breast fed baby can sense your presence more than a bottle fed baby. Also, are you constantly keeping her in quiet areas all the time? The more quiet she is used to, then the less noise it will take to waken her out of her deep sleep.

Finally, at 3 months out, she is really ready to go to her crib in her own room. With a moniter, you will surely know she is okay, and she will sleep more peacefully.

Don't get frustrated, she is afterall only 3 months old. She has a long long LONG way to go before she establishes any routines, and so your being driven "nuts" is silly. Let it go, and tell yourself she's just a baby and she loves you and senses you.

Wishing you and your baby a blessed life together.
Reply:since your the mommy they could could sense the mom when they alk in like a presence. Its part of nature that just probably means shes not a hard sleeper well good luck hope this helps.
Reply:If you breast feed she can smell you that is how babies identify their mothers the smell of the milk.
Reply:hey! bottle fed babies can sense their mommy just as well.
Reply:yes she can sense you. your baby knows your smell...

this is why she wakes up as soon as you come in the room.

when babies are little they can't see very well, so the rely on their sense of smell to know when mommy and daddy are there.
Reply:Yep - she can sense you! I think that's pretty apparent. Buy a monitor - the sound ones are just fine - and if you hear her talking/babbling/etc - then you can go in. Babies have to work on their sleep patterns - seems like she's gotten hers down - until she smells you. It might be time for her to go into her own room. If that's not an option - you'll have to let her put herself back to sleep after she wakes up. But it's kind of like someone bringing a pipping hot pizza into your room - you going to wake up and smell it. ;-)
Reply:Babies suck their fingers in their sleep. As for sensing you, newborns know their mother by smell. This is going to be especially true if you are breastfeeding her, she can smell your milk. My advice is to check on your little one via baby monitor. They even have video ones now!
Reply:babies actually have an acute sense of smell and can desipher their mothers from others by this sense of smell. by the time their born they can also tell their mothers' voice from other people. this sense of smell thing, is strong, especially in breastfed babies who can actually smell their mothers' milk`. my daughter did the same. was ready to nurse whenever i got too close! you can't get around it!!
