UK ONLY - We need suggestions for a wedding venue!!?

me and the missus are planning a wedding with about 150 guests.

we fancy somewhere nice in the countryside, with enough space for the kids to run around, to hire all weekend.

unfortunatly finding somewhere with enough accomadation is proving quite expensive, i was hoping that someone may know of somewhere which fit the criteria, with accomadation onsite, or with affordable accomadation nearby.

self catering and camping is not a problem.

I know this is a nuts question, but i may get lucky!

UK ONLY - We need suggestions for a wedding venue!!?
Chiseldon house hotel is beautiful, and they do weddings, with the full monty, flowers disco, etc, and its got 21 rooms, its not far from the M4, fairly easy to find, so if your in the south of England , have a look at the website, my friend got married there and they did a great job!
Reply:depends where your from - we got married at gretna green - anvil hall - which is an old converted catholic church. theres loads of hotels near by and the Smiths hotel is absolutely superb - theres loads of accomodation which isn't too far away. Theres camp sites near by and its so so romantic ....... I highly rec the wedding planners carrie and mark - carrie is a superb photographer - And the whole village although is stereotypical for marriages doesn't have that feel of ....... well its not commerial
Reply:im getting married at a small hotel in Hitchin, Herts.

there may not be enough rooms for all your guests but there are a few hotels locally that could put them up.

good luck with your search
Reply:Try this place - its close to the country and the sea and there are loads of b%26amp;bs nearby

Have you asked around the trade - ie hire companies - caterers - they all know each other and will recommend something suitable

Good Luck - Hope it all goes well for you

Blackpool.

there must be at least 150 rooms in guest houses/chalets/caravans

and a big dipper :) a big one.

get married on the Big One?????
Reply:Use the venue search on www.confetti.co.uk, it has all sorts of venues the more traditional to the strange, like light houses etc....give it a try, it covers all of the UK.
Reply:We're getting married at a superb hotel on the Bassetlaw-Nottinghamshire border.

The Cluber Hall Hotel, they have accomodation, a licence to conduct the ceremony (even though arrangement have to be sorted through the local registrar) Their room rate are fantastic for the size and beautiful location of the hotel. They can arrange for you to actually enter Clumber Park itself for a lovely setting for your photos, or use the hotel grounds which are also very nice.

They have a new spa section opened which is available to all guests staying.

We are staying the night before and the night of, having our ceremony, wedding breakfast for about 60 and evening reception for about 200, with all the extras included such as a dressed master of ceremonies, ect and its comingin at less that £5000 (£4150 actually)

Search their website at www.clumberparkhotel.com click through to Events and their contact numbers are their or do it by email. Anna Foley, their wedding co-ordinator is fantastic, she makes you feel at ease and I can relax knowing that everything is being taken care of - all i need to worry about is if my dress is going to fit me lol x x

Good luck x x x

Reply:Different venue HMS Warrior 1860 (they also have webite and you do need the 1860 bit. Very different venue but you cant have for full weekend as it is in Portsmouth attached to the Naval base.

Do you know any farmers that may hire you the land for a marquee?

Depends what location is because the parish you intend to marry will also need to be informed too, so if you are travelling bear it in mind.

Onboard a cruise ship (built in accommodation) P %26amp; O do a wedding package now and Capt is licensed to marry you. The Coppid Beech Hotel near Bracknell is licensed and very nice (accommodation too)

I attended a conference at The Oakley Court Hotel (off the B3400) between Basingstoke and Whitchurch and it was lovely. They would be able to accommodate 150 and the gardens are lovely for photos etc. Not sure if they do weddings on site chk website.

The Elvetham (Hartley Wintney) near Fleet bit ££ but grounds are beautiful.

The Brighton Pavillion is a very different venue superb backdrop and they carry our civil ceremonies.

The Grand Hotel in Brighton is large enough to take your party and has a lovely garden conservatory (which is actually at the front!)

Bolsover Castle, another superb venue not sure about accommodation.

Not sure if Hampton Court Palace carry out civil ceremonies, but website will confirm either way.

Sorry, I love historical places and splendour you may be looking for something modern, either way I wish you the very best for the future. Remember enjoy the day it goes too quickly and do buy a piece of jewellery as a surprise, ear rings or something. Get a girlfriend (pref not an ex one hey) to help you.
Reply:A beautiful place is in Scotland, Kingennie fisheries. Its in a lovely countryside setting, has lodges etc but you dont say where you live near.
Reply:I think you need to be a little more specific in the area. there must be hundred of places that fit the bill!
Reply:Try the New Lanark Mill Hotel in Scotland. Its a World Heritage site and the hotel has approx 37 rooms and a health and fitness suite. It also had 7 self catering waterhouses, which hold between 2 and 6 people each. See http://www.newlanarkhotel.co.uk/

But the best thing is that if you book in the winter you can also hire the new lanark youth hostel for exclusive use. Its got a total of 64 beds which are divided into family rooms (2 to 6 people per room) which each have an en suite shower room. Ideal for families. You can only book it for exclusive use from Oct-Mar, see http://www.syha.org.uk/SYHA/web/site/Hos...

We got married there in Nov 07, and the hostel was a complete bargain at £350 per night, it worked out about £30 per room per night (when you include the £100 deposit). We chose New Lanark because it was somewhere alittle different, they're are lots of Scottish castles to choose from but only 1 New Lanark, its got the same heritage status as places like Stonehenge and St.Kilda.

One last thing, the staff at New Lanark are amazing, nothing was too much trouble and our wedding day went without a single hitch, drama or problem.

Hope you have a great day, wherever you choose.

PS Other youth hostels can be booked for exclusive use during the winter, check out the Rentahostel website at http://www.rentahostel.com

Hope this helps
